Shelter Spotlight Archive

Every month, Paws in Motion Mobile shines a light on a local Central New York shelter and makes a donation in their name. Here's a look back at who we've spotlighted.

This one's personal. B & R Bunkhouse is where I adopted my own two dogs, Dark and Lady, and where I still volunteer — so there was no question who our first Shelter Spotlight would be. Since opening in 2019, B & R Bunkhouse has provided compassionate care, rehabilitation, and a safe place for dogs in need as they prepare them for their forever homes, which is made possible through the generosity of our community, dedicated volunteers, and donations that help ensure each dog receives the love and care they deserve. As part of our monthly spotlight, we're donating $500 to help keep that going. If you've ever thought about adopting, volunteering, or donating — now's a good time.

Liz presenting a $500 check to RescueLove

This month we're spotlighting RescueLove — a small rescue doing things differently. Founded in 2023, they intentionally keep their numbers low so every dog gets real one-on-one time: individual evaluations, daily enrichment and training, full vet care, and adoption matches built around both the dog and the family. It's a philosophy that lines up with how we think about dogs, too — physical and mental well-being go hand in hand. If you've been thinking about adding a dog to your family, RescueLove is worth a look.
